Engaged in silly childhood pretenseAmongst the lush green trees
My vast playground of adolescence
Stumbling across Mother Nature's cash
A wild orchid of sweetness
Where she concealed her secret stash
Sharp prickly thorns obscured the way
Encasing my toothsome desire
Not even this could keep me at bay
Plopping many a plump juicy treat
Savoring each tiny morsel
Stopping when my thirst was replete
Every single day that summer I went
To enjoy the hidden delights
Plainly my guardian angel had sent
I never revealed to mom or anyone
Where I was an hour each day
In the lush green trees beneath the sun
A tasty thicket of nectarous pleasure
Not wanting to give away
The location of my youthful treasure Posted by beautiful soul at 1:24 PM
